Privacy Policy (Maru Company)
Representative: Dong Keon Kim
Effective date: May 29, 2026
Maru Company ("we," "us," or "the Company") establishes and publishes this Privacy Policy to protect users' personal information and rights for all apps and services provided by the Company.
1. Categories of information we collect and how
We do not operate a separate sign-up or membership process. The following information is processed depending on the service type:
- [PDF / Document Apps] Media Files: To convert images to PDF, an app may request access to photos and videos (
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES). All processing is done locally on your device. We do not upload your files to our servers.
- [Game Apps] Game Records: High scores, play statistics, combo/height metrics, and an anonymous unique player ID may be stored via Google Firebase to operate leaderboards, anti-abuse checks, and optional reward features.
- [Maru Floor Jump] Virtual wallet & mailbox: In-game coins and diamonds balances, daily mission progress, lucky-box draw counters, and mailbox messages (including pending promotional coupon codes) are stored on Firebase and processed by our Cloud Functions. We do not operate a separate account sign-up; the player ID is generated on your device.
- [Maru Floor Jump] Promotional coupons: If you win a coupon through daily ranking bonus odds or the Lucky Box, the code is held in your mailbox until you tap Claim. We assign codes from a limited server-side pool; coupon face value and availability may change.
- Common Technical Data: Device model, OS version, app version, language, and approximate region (IP-based) are collected for stability and to prevent abuse.
- Advertising Identifiers: Advertising IDs (GAID/IDFA) are used for ad delivery and measurement via Google AdMob.
- Purchase Records: When you make an optional in-app purchase (for example, "remove full-screen ads"), Apple App Store or Google Play processes the payment. We receive only the entitlement status (purchased / restored). We do not receive your full payment information.
2. Purposes of use
- Service Delivery: Providing core features (PDF conversion, saving game records, operating leaderboards, etc.).
- Improvement: Analyzing technical errors, improving app quality, and ensuring security.
- Ads: Delivering and measuring advertisements via Google AdMob.
- Promotional rewards: Operating daily ranking settlement, mailbox delivery, random coupon draws, and related fraud prevention.
- In-App Purchases: Validating optional purchases and applying entitlements (e.g., turning off full-screen ads).
3. Ads (AdMob) and advertising IDs
We show ads using the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). Google and its partners may:
- Collect and use advertising identifiers for personalized or non-personalized ad delivery.
- Process data for performance analysis (impressions/clicks).
- For details, see Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Maru Floor Jump — rankings, Lucky Box, and probabilities
For Maru Floor Jump specifically:
- Daily rankings settle at 06:00 KST. TOP 10 players may receive in-game diamonds via Mailbox. Ranks 1–3 may additionally receive a random (~1.5%) chance at a 1,000 KRW promotional coupon; this is not guaranteed.
- Lucky Box spends diamonds for a random outcome: a promotional coupon (if stock remains) or consolation coins. Displayed win rates, daily draw limits, and pity (guaranteed coupon after a stated number of non-wins) are shown in the app and may be updated via remote server configuration.
- Daily missions track gameplay goals per KST day and may grant small diamond rewards when completed.
- Rewarded advertisements may grant coins or diamonds as described in the app. We use rate limits and Firebase App Check to reduce abuse.
5. Optional in-app purchases (remove ads)
Some apps offer an optional one-time purchase to remove full-screen (interstitial) advertisements. Banner advertisements may continue to appear after this purchase. Payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play; we do not receive your full payment details. We store only a local entitlement flag on your device so that ads are turned off without requiring a network call. A Restore Purchases action is provided so you can recover your entitlement after reinstalling or switching devices.
6. Retention and deletion
We delete collected information without undue delay after the purpose is achieved, except where retention is required by law.
- PDF / Document Apps: Do not retain image data (local processing only).
- Game Apps: Leaderboard slots, archives, wallet, mailbox, and mission data in Firebase are retained per internal policies and technical needs (e.g., duplicate-reward prevention).
- Purchase Records: Entitlement flags stored on the device are removed when you uninstall the app or clear app data; original purchase records remain with Apple App Store or Google Play.
7. Disclosure and processors
We do not sell your personal information. We engage the following as processors:
- Google Firebase (Cloud Functions / Firestore): Leaderboards, wallets, mailbox, missions, lucky-box logic, and anti-abuse processing.
- Google AdMob: Ad delivery and measurement.
- Apple App Store / Google Play: Processing of optional in-app purchases and entitlement validation.
8. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing. You can manage app permissions (Media access, etc.) at any time through your device settings.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect data, including access controls, data minimization, and encryption where applicable.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
If this Policy changes, we will notify you through in-service notices or by updating this page.
